Materials to Be Provided by Foreign Visiting Professors Prior to Their Arrival:

Owing to the need for the employer to conduct employment formalities and register at relevant administrative departments, all the foreign visiting teachers, prior to their arrival, shall submit the following materials as listed lest the lack of any might entail inconveniences concerning employment and normal teaching plans.
1. Personal CVs;
2. Teaching credentials;
3. Letters of recommendations by Chinese teachers;
4. Teaching certificates or other relevant documents (TESL/TESOL/TEFL);
5. Documentation of marriage (those unmarried cannot enjoy the relevant allowances); and
6. Personal health certificate (Prior to arrival, from the local Chinese embassies or general consulates foreign visiting teachers can get a copy of the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners. This is to be completed and submitted with personal X-ray photos and an original chemical examination reports for AIDS. This document will remain valid for 30 days after entry). The employer shall check the materials supplied by the applicants.

The employer must sign the standard contract provided by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs - with the foreign visiting teachers. Those foreign visiting teachers who are self-recommended or introduced by others will have to pay 600 to 900 US dollars as caution money, which will be returned to the applicant upon termination of the employment contract. The employer will be responsible for arranging the employment and relevant formalities and for supplying the fares for international travel, which might be paid in advance by the applicant by purchasing the flight tickets or serve as the caution money to be reimbursed upon termination of the contract.
