Oktoberfest Brief

Updated Beijing Time

Originating in Munich, Germany the Oktoberfest beer festival each year attracts huge crowds from all over the world with its threefold outstanding
features — German Beer, German Food and German Music.

The German Chamber has successfully brought the festival to South China three years ago. Together with renowned co-hosts the Chamber this year organizes the Oktoberfest in the three cities of Guangzhou, Zhongshan and Shenzhen.

We invite all German Chamber of Commerce members to partner with us in order to be part of this unique event at both the regional or municipal
level.

Food

All guests at the Oktoberfest will enjoy authentic Bavarian cuisine including Radi salad, Brezel, Hendl and of course Weiszwurst with Sauerkraut. A wide range of choices on the menu ensures that everyone’s individual taste will be satisfied with delicious delights. All food will be prepared by the finest chefs and experts of German cuisine.

Band

Fun and most especially authentic – this is the style of the folk music bands that will bring Bavarian atmosphere to China. Irresistible to clap your hands and join the dance!

The band’s live acts are marked by a variety of musical styles appealing to different audiences. The bands will not only play traditional folk tunes but international pop hits as well!

In their vibrant stage shows the bands combine passionate folk music with a good sense of humour, involving the crowd in hilarious animated stage shows. The folk band Wirbelwind with their young charismatic singer Michaela will be an eyecatcher in Guangzhou, while last year’s crowd puller Notenhobler will thrill the guests in Zhongshan. The combo Muenchner Musikanten will rock the tent in Shenzhen.

Name of the band: Wirbelwind
